An amusement park is an entertainment complex with games, rides and other attractions that provide excitement for visitors. Amusement parks are different from circuses, carnivals and world’s fairs (see exposition) in that they are permanent locations open all year. They often have a themed design that evokes distant or imaginary locales and eras, such as the Wild West, an African safari, or medieval Europe.
In addition to roller coasters, amusement parks have many other types of attractions. Often they feature a variety of family fun activities like mini golf and batting cages, as well as competition areas like go-karts, bumper cars, bungee jumping and water slides. indoor playground Some amusement parks also feature dark rides, which are enclosed attractions that include lighting effects, recorded dialogue, and music.
The most common source of revenue for amusement parks is admission fees, which are paid by guests as they enter the park or as they purchase tickets to ride the attractions. Typically, each ride costs one ticket, while some attractions cost multiple tickets. In parks that use a pay-as-you-go system, visitors receive tickets at the entry gate or exchange them for tokens at the attraction they wish to visit.
